2025-2026 George Washington Carver Student Ambassadors
Meet Carver’s 2025-2026 Student Ambassadors!
These students represent the best of Carver: Strong in academics, leaders in character, and full of Tiger pride. From football and JROTC to the band and cheerleading, Tigerettes, and Academic Decathlon, they reflect the many talents and communities that make us who we are.
As Ambassadors, they’ll lead tours, mentor underclassmen, and model what it means to be a Tiger on the Hill. We’re proud to have them representing Carver!

Why does school culture matter to them?
Aaliyah Mayfield
12th Grade
My school culture matters to me because this is the environment that I have spent most of my teenage years in. The environment not only shapes my academics, but my personality and well being as well. I believe that the reputation of a school can make an impact on a person as much as one allows it, and I want people to feel as though Carver is welcoming the more that you get involved.
Ah’maya Sumbry

My school culture matters to me because it shows what and who Carver is beyond just the spots and what the outside people really say. Carver is great all the way around. For example, I do an extracurricular activity, but I’m a STUDENT before I am an athlete, and Carver ensures that my grades are good so I can also perform.

School culture is how involved students are when it comes to school events and in the classroom also outside of school. The culture influences students to be the best that they can while having fun and being proud to be a part of the GWC TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The way our school is built has an insanely large impact on its students. We should care about our school culture, and make sure it’s shaped in a way that will benefit not just our students but our school community as a whole.
Madison Bowers

School culture matters to me because it affects how comfortable and supported I feel at school. When the environment is positive, it makes learning easier and helps everyone get along better.
Abrianna Biggers

School culture is crucial because it creates a space where students and staff can carry their school name with pride and achievement, which instills character!
Ka’Mia McGee

What school culture means to me is creating a safe and respectful environment for my peers and teachers.
Jaida Shaeer
12th Grade
School culture matters to me because it makes a school more expressive, and like life, it makes school more fun, and it makes that school more unique than other schools.
Yasmin Burch
11th Grade
Why school culture matters to me is because it creates an environment that people want to get involved in and just feel welcomed and included. This helps to bring a positive aspect to our school, develop as individual leaders, help each other when we are down, or just need help where we’re lost. This allows us as students, alumni, and current staff to make an environment that our friends, peers, classmates, and teachers can thrive academically and socially without living in fear of each other.
Jayden Anthony
11th Grade
School culture is something that matters to me because as a student of a school, I am part of it. The school is a reflection of me, as I am for it. The school is a brand, and I want to invest in that brand because I want to be a part of that culture, be a part of something bigger than myself, and ultimately contribute to the school’s legacy or even leave behind my own.
William Carter
11th Grade
It can sometimes describe the whole school as whole.
Ignacio Bautista
12th Grade
School culture matters a lot to me because it is something that we as students get to be a part of. No other school has values, traditions, and culture like ours, Carver High School.
Shakayla Richardson
12th Grade
To me, school culture is like the vibe of a school. It’s the shared values and beliefs that make our school unique. This matters because it affects how students, teachers, and staff interact with each other and feel every day.
Aidan Jackson
12th Grade
School culture matters to me because it’s about being a part of something bigger than yourself. It’s about representing the brand that is your school and what it stands for, and as a result, you become a reflection of not only the people of your school, but a reflection of your own morals and principles as well.
