Language Arts

Hello! My name is Ashley Brown, and I am thrilled to be teaching 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts at Blackmon Road. I have been a part of this incredible school community for almost three years, and each day brings new opportunities to inspire and support my students. I have a passion for helping students discover their unique voices through writing and exploring a variety of reading genres. My goal is to guide them in understanding the vital role literacy plays in their everyday lives.

Originally from Columbus, I attended Hardaway High School and furthered my education at Columbus State University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree. I also hold a master’s degree from LaGrange College in Middle Grades Education. I absolutely love teaching middle school and cherish the opportunity to make a positive impact in my students’ lives!

Outside of teaching, I am a proud mother of four amazing children. My husband, Kenny, and I have two kids in college and two high school seniors who will be heading off to college in the fall of 2025. With all our kids soon to be in college, we will officially become empty nesters! Raising our kids has been our primary hobby for the last 20 years, and we are excited to find new hobbies and adventures in this next chapter of our lives. Our home is also filled with the joy of four dogs! They definitely keep us busy and laughing at their antics hiding shoes and socks. As a family we are passionate fans of Georgia football. We love tail-gating and gathering with friends and family to watch the DAWGS play.

Hi, My name is Stacy Renee’ Jenkins, and I’ve taught at Blackmon Road for the past 25 years. I taught 6^th grade Language Arts for 16 years and I’ve been teaching 8^th grade Language Arts for the past 9 years. I have Bachelor’s Degree from Alabama State University, and a Master’s and Specialist Degree from Troy State University. I enjoy exercising, watching cooking shows, bowling and being with family and friends.
