The Academy of Computer Science & Electronic Game Design Open House

The first Magnet Open House was held in the new Spencer auditorium on Thursday, November 29 at 6:00. It was a success. Prospective Greenwave magnet students and their parents were given an overview of the program along with expectations. Students had the opportunity to see games, robots and other technology projects designed by current students. This was the largest turnout thus far. Applications are still being accepted for program enrollment for the 2019 – 2020 school year. The Academy of Computer Science & Electronic Game Design is composed of several advanced placement computer science gaming pathways. It is Dedicated to attracting and retaining diverse learners who seek to gain college and real world experiences while completing high school requirements. Spencer’s band looked spectacular during homecoming in their new uniforms. Despite the weather, all of the students did an amazing job. Spencer defeated Lamar County High School 28 – 0. Go Greenwave!

The Guidance Department is sponsoring Fort Valley State University Open House/Preview Day  on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13TH, from 9am to 9pm. Students must have the following to participate:

  • Senior year

  • 2.5 GPA

  • Completed 2nd year of Spanish

Spencer High School scholars enjoyed a visit by Dr. Rome, President of Fisk University on Friday, September 21, 2018. Through his discussion, Dr. Rome, was able to connect with the experiences of many of our students. He was an inspiration to all who attended the assembly.
