Mission Statement

The Blackmon Road Middle School Counseling Department will provide a comprehensive school counseling program addressing academic, personal, social, and career development. The school counselor’s role is to foster personal responsibility in students as they work toward being productive citizens.

Confidentiality is of the utmost importance to us. We believe that each student deserves to be treated with the deepest respect and discretion. We will guard your privacy as much as permitted by law. However, confidentiality may be broken if a student reports harm to self, harm to others, or if someone is harming the student.

Peer Helpers

The Peer Helper program is sponsored by the Counseling Department. Students are selected from each grade level by the school counselor and administrative team. A peer helper is a person who assists persons of approximately the same age who share related values, experiences and lifestyles. BRMS peer helpers will help with:
