Important 8th Grade Parent Information

8th Grade Parents and Guardians

As part of the BRIDGE Law (House Bill 400), your student worked on their individual graduation plans, future career interests, learned about Georgia’s dual enrollment Move On When Ready (MOWR) program and Georgia’s HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarship programs  Their individual graduation plans and self-selected careers can be accessed through their GCIS Portfolios at http://www.gcic.peachnet.edu.  The BRIDGE law was signed into law May 2010 to create an atmosphere motivating middle- and high-school students to learn because they see the relevance of education to their dreams and future plans. Please log on and check it out with your child!

The Next Step Muscogee County School District guide books were given to each 8th grade student for more information on the Move On When Ready (MOWR) program, page 31, and Georgia’s HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarship programs, page 32.  Please visit Blackmon Road website or Georgia Dept. of Education’s website: http://www.gadoe.org for more information.
