October is National Principals Month! We would like honor our awesome principal, Mr. Ogburn. He plays a big role in making our school a great place for students and teachers. He also leads with passion and make certain that all students are prepared for success beyond the classroom! We thank him for his unwavering commitment to our school!

Congratulations to Mrs. Gardner for being selected as the Veterans Memorial Support Staff of the Year! Mrs. Gardner wears several different hats at VMMS. She serves as our school’s secretary, helps coordinate transportation for field trips, assist with fundraising and purchase requests, assists with COF budgets, works with staff members to complete time cards, and works with teacher coverage to name a few! Mrs. Gardner is constantly working behind the scenes to make sure everything is running smoothly. Congratulations again Mrs. Gardner, our 2024-2025 Support Staff of the Year!

Congratulations to Mrs. Scarbrough for being selected as the Veterans Memorial Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Scarbrough is a vital part of Veterans Memorial. She serves as the science department chair, team 6-1’s lead teacher, a member of the leadership team, a member of our PBIS team, robotics team coach, and a member and presenter for AI4GA! Mrs. Scarbrough definitely leads the way. A fun fact is that Mrs. Scarbrough has been at VMMS since the school opened in 2007.
