RLA PBIS Matrix
We are a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school. PBIS is a framework used in schools to promote positive behavior and improve overall school climate. With PBIS, we focus on teaching behavioral expectations to students, acknowledging and reinforcing positive behaviors, and using consistent consequences for inappropriate behaviors.
The goal is to be preventative rather than reactive. We want to teach the expected positive behaviors and reward students when they display that behavior, as opposed to only waiting for undesired behavior and punishing it.
At Rothschild Leadership Academy, we have a PBIS matrix for our school-wide expectations that highlights appropriate behaviors for all students. These expectations are to be respectful, be leaders, and be accountable. This is known as our PBIS Creed!
