Graduation Requirements

A minimum of 23 Credits are required for graduation in senior year, which must be earned in the following areas:

 

  • English – 4 Credits
  • Math – 4 Credits
  • Social Studies – 3 Credits
  • Science – 4 Credits
  • CTAE/Modern Language/Fine Arts – 3 credits
  • Health and Physical Education – 1
  • Electives – 4 credits
Total:  23 Credits

* The 4th science unit may be used to meet both the science and elective requirement.

** Students must complete three units in a pathway to complete a CTAE pathway and take an end of pathway assessment. Students interested in attending a University System of Georgia college/university must complete two years of the same foreign language to be admissible as a freshman.

Promotion/Retention Criteria

 9th grade: promotion from 8th grade 

10th grade: a minimum of 5 credits earned

11th grade: a minimum of 11 credits earned 

12th grade:  a minimum of 16 credits** (For the purpose of participation in GHSA activities, 17 units of credit are required)
