More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921. “

Ways to obtain service hours in addition to the regular options:
- Write letters to people in nursing homes.
- Assist neighbors that may be immune-compromised get their groceries and/or maintain their lawn, etc.
- Foster a pet
- Take initiative by contacting your local community outreach programs to see how you can assist while maintaining and following safety measures/ protocols.
