Title I operates as a part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). The Title I program funds additional academic supports to help economically disadvantage children mee the same high level of academic proficiency as that which is expected of all children. The needs of Title I schools are identified through comprehensive needs assessments which inform data-driven decisions about research-based instructional strategies and professional learning.
Dear Parent/Legal Guardian,
To clarify any misunderstanding about the Behavioral and Emotional Screening System (BESS) through the online portal, we are allowing parents to update their consent due to a system error. If you signed the BESS Information Letter (now named BESS Opt-Out Letter) previously through the online registration process but would like for your child to participate in screening, you will not need to submit the BESS Opt-Out Letter. If you do not want your child to participate in the BESS screening, you must return a signed BESS Opt-Out Letter to your child’s school. Links to Parent Resources for the BESS are available below:
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to support the educational success of all students. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
