Admission Requirements for MCSD TAPP

  • Willing to commit to 18-36 months of intense on and off the job learning including on-line coursework, in-person and/or virtual trainings, Saturday Seminars, diverse field experiences, observations, meetings, and a final pedagogy assessment/portfolio.
  • Willing to commit to a minimum of 3 years teaching MCSD students in a high needs subject area/field and school
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2.7  preferred or above GPA on most recent degree
  • GACE Educator Ethics Assessment (360)
  • GACE content/subject assessment for certification seeking (not applicable for Special Education candidates for admission)

Note:  The GACE Educator Ethics 360 and content assessments are different.

  • Official transcripts from each college attended sent to mail@gapsc.com (college must send these not the applicant)

  • Have not completed student teaching nor earned certification in any state, country, or territory
  • Submitted MCSD TAPP application by the cohort deadline
  • After the TAPP interview, selected candidates are recommended to principals for school interviews by Human Resources.
  • Offered and accepted a full-time teaching position in a MCSD TAPP approved subject/ field and school (must maintain employment with MCSD to remain in TAPP)
