- How do I make the determination if a device was intentionally or accidentally damaged?
- Report any damage via an Incident IQ ticket with a thorough description of the circumstances leading to the damage. Our vendor will make the determination of accidental vs. intentional damage.
- What is the procedure for when a device is accidentally damaged?
- Place a work ticket for the device in Incident IQ with a thorough description of the circumstances leading to the damage.
- Assign a loaner device to the student from the reserve cart.
- Place the damaged device in a known location for Virtucom with a post-it note that has the Incident IQ ticket number on top of the device.
- Virtucom will assess and repair the device.
- After repairs are complete, check-in the loaner device and return the original device to the student.
- What is the procedure for when a device is intentionally damaged?
- Place a work ticket for the device in Incident IQ requesting a quote for repair.
- Follow your building-level procedures for re-issuing a device to a student that intentionally damaged their device.
- Provide the quoted repair price to the student and parent. Follow the building procedures for collecting money for lost/damaged property. Money should be deposited in the Schools Activity Account.
- Parents should look in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal to see any fees that have been assessed.
- If parent refuses to pay for repairs, follow building-level procedures for non-payment.
- What is the procedure for when a device is lost?
- Place a work ticket for the device in Incident IQ that a device is lost.
- File a police report with the Muscogee County Police Department.
- Attach the police report to the work ticket when available. (Don’t wait for the police report to do the work ticket, it can be added to the ticket at a later date)
