Dear NCES Families,<\/p>\n
As\u00a0we enter the winter season, we want to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff. Please review the following guidelines to help determine when your child should remain at home and when it is safe for them to return to school:<\/p>\n
Your child should stay home if they have:<\/strong><\/p>\n
\n
A fever of 100\u00b0F or higher<\/li>\n
Vomiting within the past 24 hours<\/li>\n
Diarrhea within the past 24 hours<\/li>\n
A rash with itching or fever<\/li>\n
Active head lice<\/li>\n
An eye infection with redness, itching, and\/or drainage<\/li>\n
Recently been hospitalized or had an emergency room visit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Your child may return to school when they are:<\/strong><\/p>\n
\n
Fever-free for 24 hours without medication (Tylenol, Motrin, Advil, etc.)<\/li>\n
Free from vomiting and diarrhea for at least 24 hours<\/li>\n
Free from rash, itching, or fever (and evaluated by a doctor if needed)<\/li>\n
Treated for lice and cleared at home<\/li>\n
Free from eye drainage or have been evaluated by a doctor if needed<\/li>\n
Released by their medical provider following hospitalization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
If your child has strep throat or another bacterial infection, they should remain home until antibiotics have been given for at least 24 hours and your healthcare provider has cleared them to return.<\/p>\n

Technology, Library Materials, & School Property Responsibilities and Fines<\/strong><\/h2>\n
Chromebooks<\/span><\/strong>
\nAll students have been issued a Chromebook (to include Case and Charger) to use during the school day. Students must be responsible for their Chromebook\/Case\/Charger at all times. In an effort to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars, students must be responsible for the care of their Chromebook and not damage it in any way. Chromebooks are to be carried in a case at all times when not in use.<\/p>\n
Students who damage Chromebooks and\/or accessories can be assessed a replacement fee as per Board (see MCSD Board Policy JS: Student Fees, Fines, and Charges).<\/p>\n
Fines and Fees Section
\n<\/span>Care and Use of School Property – Chromebooks, Textbooks, and Media Center Checkouts:<\/strong>
\nStudents will be held responsible for the proper care of all books, supplies, Chromebooks, and accessories or equipment furnished to them by the school. A student who defaces, damages, or loses school property shall be required to pay for the damage or loss(see MCSD Board Policy JS: Student Fees, Fines, and Charges).<\/p>\n
A Parent\/Student must pay all fees and fines owed to the school in a timely fashion. Parent\/Student must clear all fines or fees during the year the fines are assessed. Fines must be paid\/cleared where they were assessed and before moving to the next level in school.
