Signing up:<\/p>\n

When signing up, your library will be the Chattahoochee Valley Library. Make\/log in to your account. Use the Columbus Public Library as your primary library (unless you have a different preference). Now you may add a reader, your child, to the profile. When adding the student, it will ask what school the student will attend in the fall. Please select Midland Academy or wherever they will attend next year. Next, register for the Summer Reading Challenge Unearth A Story.<\/p>\n

Logging Reading:<\/p>\n

After selecting the profile, click the plus sign at the bottom of the screen and select reading. You may search for the title of the book or log without the title. Select the date the student read and the number of minutes they have read. Then click done. The users will achieve badges and rewards for posting their reading time.<\/p>\n

Rewards:<\/p>\n

Every 100 minutes on Bean Stack or a completed reading log sheet, students can go to any branch of the library and receive a candy, toy, sticker, or similar prize. The staff can find their account online to see their prizes.<\/p>\n

End of summer, for every 100 minutes read, each reader (child or adult), will be included in a raffle for prizes.<\/p>\n

Midland Academy rewards will be a shout-out on the news and an invitation to a doughnut social for at least 300 minutes read during the summer.<\/p>\n

CHROMEBOOK CARE AND RESPONSIBILITY<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

All students have been issued a Chromebook (to include Case and Charger) to use during the school day. Students must be responsible for their Chromebook\/Case\/Charger at all times.\u00a0 In an effort to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars, students must be responsible for the care of their Chromebook and not damage it in any way. Chromebooks are to be carried in a case at all times when not in use.\u00a0 Students who damage Chromebooks and\/or accessories can be assessed a replacement fee as per Board (see MCSD Board Policy JS: Student Fees, Fines, and Charges)<\/p>\n

FINES AND FEES<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Care and Use of School Property – Chromebooks, Textbooks, and Media Center Checkouts:<\/strong>\u00a0 Students will be held responsible for the proper care of all books, supplies, Chromebooks, and accessories or equipment furnished to them by the school. A student who defaces, damages, or loses school property shall be required to pay for the damage or loss (see MCSD Board Policy JS: Student Fees, Fines, and Charges).<\/p>\n

A Parent\/Student must pay all fees and fines owed to the school in a timely fashion. Parent\/Student must clear all fines or fees during the year the fines are assessed. Fines must be paid\/cleared where they were assessed and before moving to the next level in school.<\/p>\n
