What makes Hannan so great?
Here at Hannan, we have a truly diverse and amazing group of students, teachers, and staff! From Gifted and Magnet classrooms, AU Learning Center, STEM certified instruction, and endless extra-curricular programs, we are a home for all! All of our traditional and magnet students receive rigorous, differentiated instruction to include exposure to Spanish as a part of their connections course offerings. Our magnet program is designed to extend the curriculum for gifted and high achieving students through project-based learning. The curriculum for the “Program for Gifted and High Achieving Students” is anchored in the Georgia Standards of Excellence and also meets the standards of the content area National Standards Projects as well as the National Curriculum Standards for Gifted Education. This curriculum has been developed to provide both more rigor and complexity than is provided by the regular curriculum. The program also contains integrated STEM instruction to promote higher-level thinking skills.
All teachers will use adopted textbooks and instructional programs as guides, and supplemental units and resources have been selected that better meet interests and academic needs of our talented learners.
Parent and Family Engagement Policy
describes how Hannan Magnet Academy will
provide opportunities to improve parent and
family engagement to support student learning.
Hannan Magnet Academy values the
contributions and involvement of families in
order to establish partnership for the common goal of improving student achievement. The Parent and Family Engagement Policy describes the different ways the school will support parent and family engagement and how families are encouraged to be full partners in the decision-making of their child’s education.
