Student-Athlete Player Packet is only valid for one calendar year, i.e., August 01, 2024 \u2013 July 31, 2025.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
For returning parents and athletes, please check the date on the Student-Athlete Player Packet from last year to ensure it is still valid.<\/strong><\/li>\n
No participant can tryout, condition or even stretch without a Player Packet and Updated Physical. Make sure all sections including insurance information is completely filled out before submitting. Failure to do so may cause your child to miss a day of try outs.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Blackmon Road Middle School interscholastic athletics provide an opportunity for the entire student body to demonstrate school spirit and positive citizenship. Our philosophy is to foster excellence through educational and competitive experiences in an atmosphere of sportsmanship and integrity.\u00a0 The health and well-being of our student athletes is our primary consideration and is always more important than the outcome of an athletic contest.\u00a0 We expect each of our student athletes to conduct themselves with dignity and decorum at all times.\u00a0 Interscholastic athletic participation is secondary to the student\u2019s academic responsibilities.\u00a0 Practices and games are scheduled to avoid conflict with the academic class schedule, and a balance must be maintained between the demands of a competitive athletic program and the challenging academic schedule that all middle school students carry.\u00a0 Interscholastic athletes<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
Interscholastic athletics is a privilege that carries with it responsibilities to the school, the team, the community, and the students.\u00a0 Student athletes will conduct themselves in accordance with all the policies, rules and regulations of the Muscogee County School District as a requisite for participation in any interscholastic athletic program.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Athletic and Academic\u00a0Eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

Enrollment and Residency<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n
Students must reside within the school\u2019s attendance area to be eligible to participate in interscholastic athletics unless approved by MCSD office.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
Age <\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
Students who are 15 years old or older as of August 1 are ineligible to participate in the interscholastic program.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
Academic Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

All students entering 6^{th<\/sup> grade are eligible for the for the fall semester.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n}
Fall academic eligibility for students determined by the end of year grades from the preceding school year (must pass 5 out of 6 classes).<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n

\nObtain the Student-Athlete Player Packet from the front office, gym, Coach of the Sport you are trying out for, or click on the Links Below<\/strong>. <\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
Ensure all Sheets and Sections are filled out and signed that must be filled out and signed by you and your parent(s) or guardian(s). <\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
Have a Physician complete the Physical Examination Form.\u00a0 Make sure all parties, the doctor, parent and athlete, sign and date the Physical Examination Form.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
Do I need to go see a Physician?<\/strong><\/span>\n\nYes! The last page of the Physical Examination Form must be filled out, signed and dated by a Physician.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
Know when the Tryout Dates are! Look out for announcements made each month about when the first day will be!<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
Make sure a copy of the completed Student-Athlete Player Packet is turned into the Athletic Director, Jermaine Ballard. <\/strong>\n\nPlease turn the copy of the Student-Athlete Player Packet into the front office and ask them to turn it into Jermaine Ballard. <\/strong><\/li>\n
For your records, please always make yourself an additional copy with the original.\u00a0 NEVER turn in the original<\/u><\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n

Student-Athlete Player Packet is only valid for one calendar year, i.e., August 01, 2023 – July 31, 2024.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
For returning parents and athletes, please check the date on the Student-Athlete Player Packet from last year to ensure it is still valid.<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n
No participant can tryout, condition or even stretch without a Player Packet. Make sure all sections including insurance information is completely filled out before submitting.
