The Muscogee County School District launched the Be There Campaign initiative Wednesday, November 4, 2009.
Be There is a research-based, multimedia campaign designed to get parents more involved in their child’s education.
One hundred percent (100%) of the research studies compiled by the Parent Institute* indicate that parent involvement has a significant impact on student success. The statistics show with as little as a one-third increase in parent participation, school achievement scores increase dramatically. It only takes a small increase in parent input to see measurable results in student output!
Since 2009, the Muscogee County School District has partnered with WTVM News Leader 9 to feature extraordinary Teachable Moments!
We implemented a local version of the Be There campaign and recognized as a model by Voss and Associates, the creator, for other districts.
By sharing information, stories, and resources in a variety of formats, we can continuously engage parents and families how easy it is to get involved by inviting them, welcoming them, and inspiring them to Be There! Various community organizations and our Partners in Education helped us expand this effort since 2009. We use a variety of methods including, but not limited to, public service announcements, feature television interviews and stories, web stories/articles, and promotional materials.
