National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society is a well-known organization that recognizes middle school students for their outstanding scholarship, service, citizenship and leadership.  Activities the NJHS has participated in the last school year:

  • Toys for Tots

  • Hosted a Thanksgiving Luncheon for Cafeteria Workers, Custodians, and Secretarial Staff of the school

  • PAWS Humane Project—collected dog and cat toys, peanut butter,

  • Participated in Callaway Gardens Fantasy in Lights to help raise money for the March of Dimes

  • Collected snack items to donate to the Wounded Warriors

  • Sold Valentine Grams

  • Donation of money for Teacher Appreciation Day

  • Donation of money to help pay for Awards Day Program

NJHS will meet in the media center from 4 to 4:45 pm.

Selection to the Edward Reed Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society will be based on Scholarship, Character, Leadership, Citizenship and Service. Students must be in the 7th or 8th grade.  Students who have attained an overall scholastic average of 94 or above will then be evaluated on: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, Citizenship and Service. The students who were found to have the scholastic GPA as well as meet the 5 requirements of NJHS will be invited to join the Edward Reed chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. This invitation will be given to the student in the Spring.  Scholastic average is only ONE of the criteria for selection.

At any time a student is placed in OSS or ISS, that student will be ineligible for induction.
