These standards help move instruction far beyond basic repetition, memorization, and passive seatwork. The standards challenge students to develop a deeper understanding of subject matter, to learn how to think critically, and to apply what they are learning in real-world situations.

Welcome to Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary!

It is a special place to learn and grow. We are proud of our school and have high expectations for every student. Our commitment to academic excellence is unwavering. Together with our dedicated staff, we strive to connect with students to help them feel valued, accepted, and safe. Our MLK motto is “Students’ First, Stronger Together, Never Quit.” We will continue to guide our district’s mission to inspire and equip all students to achieve unlimited potential. Our overarching goal is to encourage active student engagement to foster a lifetime love for learning.

By May 2024, MLK ES will refine the collaborative planning structure to address the standards-based classroom instructional framework with 85% implementation as measured by the GaDOE High Impact (HIP) Collaborative Planning Tool.
