Senior Dues ~ $65

In order to participate in Senior activities that are planned throughout the school year, students must pay Class Dues.  Dues are to be paid to Mrs. Strickland in Room 135.  If a student has not paid their Freshman ($10.00), Sophomore ($15.00), and/or Junior ($25.00) dues, they must pay those in addition to the Senior Dues ($65.00).  Senior Dues fund numerous projects, parties, the senior luncheon and the graduation ceremony, etc.  LAST DAY TO PAY CLASS DUES:  Friday, April 13, 2018.

Seniors may purchase a Class Package that will save them $70.00!  This will only be available until Friday, November 10.  The Class Package includes:  Senior Dues, Prom Ticket, Prom Gift, Senior T-shirt, Yearbook, and Cap, Gown, & Diploma Cover.  The price is $235.00. Click here to access Class Package information.

Mandatory Senior Parent Meetings

The senior year is a busy and exciting year. There is so much to do and so many questions.   The Muscogee County School District requires that JVHS meets with parents/guardians of graduating seniors two times this school year.  The first meeting must take place by Wednesday, November 15.  During this meeting, important information regarding graduation requirements and opportunities after graduation will be discussed.  The conference will take approximately 15 minutes.  Please call Mrs. Strickland at 706.748.2819 to schedule your appointment.  The second meeting will be a group meeting of all senior parents on Tuesday, April 24, at 6:00 p.m.  At this meeting, important graduation ceremony information will be given out.

Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Muscogee County School District has established criteria that will be used to determine Valedictorians and Salutatorians at all district high schools. All high schools are required to follow the selection criteria, post in the student/parent handbook and on their school website.  Click Here to access more information regarding Valedictorian and Salutatorian selection.

It is VERY important that seniors pass all of their classes and attend school every day.  Parents and students are always welcome to come to Room 135 to review transcripts and make sure they are on track for graduation.

Now is the time to be signing up to take these tests and completing college applications.  You may obtain information in the Guidance Department Office.

Paying for college can be very expensive; however, scholarships are available.  It is important that you plan ahead and start filling out applications now.  Check with the Guidance Department for more information.

Seniors must clear all their outstanding debts.  Examples:  lost books that you owe for, overdue fines in the Library, and money owed to club sponsors.  These must be paid all outstanding debts before the first graduation practice in May, to be placed in the graduation lineup.

Plans are being made to take the Senior Class Group Picture in December.  Please plan to wear your Senior t-shirt and be in this picture.

Can we purchase Senior T-Shirts and Hoodies?

Senior T-Shirts/Hoodies

Design ideas are now being taken for Senior short-sleeved and long-sleeved t-shirts as well as hoodies.  Orders for these shirts will begin soon for delivery in early November.

What is Class Day?

Class Day

Class Day will be held on TBA, at 9:30 a.m., in the JVHS Auditorium.  Class Day is a long-time tradition that features music, special presentations, a senior video, and an opportunity for students to say goodbye to Jordan Vocational High School.  A reception to honor the graduates will be held following the ceremony.  Seniors should report to the JVHS auditorium no later than 8:45 a.m.

How can I be included in the Senior Slideshow?

Senior Slideshow

Please bring in 2-4 baby pictures and 2-4 senior pictures for the Senior Slideshow.  This is viewed at Class Day.  Place in a Ziploc bag or envelope with your name on it.  Pictures will be scanned and returned to you in a timely manner.  Pictures should be of graduate only—no brothers, sisters, parents, etc. should be in photos.  All baby pictures are due to Mrs. Tuite in Room 205 by the end of school on Tuesday, December 19.

When is the Senior Luncheon and can I invite my parents?

The Senior Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, May 15, at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Luke United Methodist Church Ministry Center.  A buffet lunch will be served and a program is planned.  The cost of this event is included in Senior Dues.  Parents may attend but they must purchase a ticket–$17.00.

Am I required to purchase a Cap, Gown & Diploma cover?

Cap, Gown, & Diploma Cover—Balfour

In order to participate in the Graduation Ceremony, seniors will need to purchase a cap, gown, tassel, & diploma cover from Balfour.  This is the company that handles our graduation items.  The cost is $70.00 for these items (unless you purchase the Senior Class Package which it is included in).  A representative from the company will visit Jordan on Tuesday, October 31, to distribute information regarding these and other senior items.  They will then return during lunch to collect orders on Monday, November 6.  The price will increase to $75.00 on Friday, February 16, 2018.
