October is National Energy Awareness Month and to get our students contentious of this endeavor, the G. W. Carver STEM Magnet Program along with our Partners in Education are sponsoring our annual: ENERGY AWARENESS ESSAY CONTEST
Congrats to Markia Sellers and Uyl Joyner (Physical Science Co-teachers at Carver High School) for their implementation of the science/engineering practices. These awesome teachers used the phenomenon of the atomic bomb deployment in Hiroshima to facilitate students asking questions to better understand radioactivity. See below for some of their students’ responses.
Let’s do this again! If you know a teacher (could be yourself) that is building exemplar lessons focusing on implementing a science/engineering practice in the context of a cool phenomenon, please forward me his/her name(s), lesson description, and phenomenon being used by this Friday.
