Are you good at Math and like to work on problems and puzzles?  

Join our math team and help us win the local competitions among other schools.

​Science Olympiad

Inspiring scientists are needed to learn and create things and compete at CSU in February. Researching topics and building rockets and cars to race are just a sample of what you do. Fun had by all!

The Herschel A. Jones Chapter National Junior Honor Society

Keeping your ​grades up and being an outstanding student are just a couple of the qualities of becoming an NJHS member. Induction ceremony takes place in the spring.  The group manages many of our service projects to help the less fortunate during the holidays.

​Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl

​This is a competitive team of 10 students who read the Georgia Children’s Book Award books in order to compete with other middle schools in January. The team is chosen in October and meets
in the mornings before school to get ready for the competition.


Information Meeting:  Come by room 132 from 8:00-8:40 Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 5 or Sept. 6, 2018) to sign up.  We are looking for 10-12 students who are good in math, science, history/geography, sports, and general trivia.

​Academic Bowl Team

This organization competes with other middle school teams using academic material in a quiz-bowl format.   In 2014-2015, the team has been invited to Nationals in Washington, DC!  

​Student Council

Chosen by teachers, a homeroom representative speaks for their class and gives input on topics. They also become good stewards to others by giving their time.

The Debate Team

Students compete among others within our area and other schools in Georgia.  The 2014-2015 school year
