The library at Arnold Magnet Academy strives to be a place that is welcoming and friendly to all students. This technology-rich environment hosts a full size computer lab of 32 student stations, and is open to individual students and classes alike. Our 8,000 collection of books is sure to entice all types of readers.
Our Media Center’s Policies are as follows:
Students may have up to two (2) books/magazines checked out at a time.
The loan period for books/magazines is two weeks and the due date is stamped in the back of the book.
Students are responsible for the cost of all books checked out in their name.
The library closes each day at 4:00 PM. The Media Center can remain open later upon special request.
The library catalog can be assessed from any computer with the internet. From the above link, click on the work “Catalog.” Patrons can search here by subject, titles, series, keywords, as well as interest level.
In celebration of literature, students from schools around the state of Georgia participate in the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl each year. This scholarly group of ten students read and study the ten books nominated for the Georgia Children’s Book Award. After months of practice, the students compete against other middle schools in our city, and the team can move on to regional and state competitions. Look for signs and listen to the announcements in September for information about joining Arnold’s Reading Bowl Team!
